The SIMple Calling USA SIM card is a unique new SIM card that provides great rates in the USA plus the ability to receive calls on your US number at low rates in the UK. By using the SIMple Calling USA SIM you can avoid all mobile roaming charges, make calls to the UK from just 27p/min and have a new American mobile number before you leave the UK. UK mobile networks, International SIM and Global SIM providers still charge as much as £1.20 p/min to make a call and £1.00 p/min to receive a call in the USA, so the savings can be significant with the new SIMple Calling USA SIM card!

As the SIMple Calling SIM has a dual number range (+1 USA and +44 UK Isle of Man) it’s the perfect solution for business and leisure travellers who need to make savings in the USA, have a US number, but still stay in touch with friends and colleagues when they return to the UK. Ideal for regular business trips, working a season in a ski resort or for visiting friends and family in the USA. You make and receive calls on your US number in the USA at the rates detailed below. Callers can reach you from the UK on your US number for 1p/min using our dialthrough service and you’ll pay 17p/min to receive the call in the USA. Then, once you return to the UK, you can receive calls from contacts in the USA on your US number for only 27p/min.

International Calls from just 27p/min
With the SIMple calling USA SIM you pay exactly the same (17p/min) to make a call to a US landline or a mobile and it costs just 27p/min to call a UK or European landline from the USA! Calls to international mobiles will cost only you 43p/min. That’s a saving of 75% compared to roaming with a UK SIM card, other Global SIM cards or International SIM cards!
How does the service work?
All you need to do is ensure that you have an unlocked Tri-Band (or Quad-band) mobile handset and then simply switch your normal UK SIM card for your new SIMple Calling USA SIM card on arrival. The USA SIM card works on a Pay-As-You-Go basis therefore to continue using the SIM card you need to add credit to your account. Top-Ups can be purchased online or over the phone and the USA SIM card is provided with initial starter credit of £6.70. Calls are made and received directly in the same way as a standard national network.
Calling the SIM
Having a UK mobile number option means that you can remain in touch with your contacts in the USA costs effectively, even when you are back in the UK. US residents can call you on your US number, paying a national rate call and you can receive the call in the UK at a cost of 27p/min. However, if your contacts call you on your UK number profile, you’ll receive calls and text messages for only 17p/min in the UK! Friends and family can call you from a UK BT landline for 2p/min on your US number by using the dialthrough number we include in your SIM pack, or for 13p/min by calling you on your UK number. Calling rates from mobile operators vary so please check the cost of dialing a US +1 or UK (Isle of Man) +44 7924 number for accurate costs.
Coverage
The ekit SIMple calling USA SIM card provides excellent coverage in the USA. SIMple calling enjoys the benefits of coverage provided across the USA by T.Mobile and AT&T, the largest GSM operators in the USA. Coverage in the UK under the UK number range is provided by Orange, O2, Vodafone and T.Mobile. To see the coverage maps please click here for AT&T and here for T.Mobile. SIM card registration and activation
The UK mobile number is detailed within the SIMpack you receive. Activation and confirmation of the SIMple Calling USA number is quick and easy and can be done on-line or via the phone before you travel. Full details are included in the user guides. You can also make test calls with the SIM in the UK on the UK number before you travel. Please note caller ID is not revealed using the SIM in the UK or USA.
Incoming Call & Text (SMS) Charges
Please remember that, unlike Europe and many other countries, in America you pay to receive calls and Text (SMS) messages on the US number as well as to make a call or send a Text (SMS). This is normal practice across the main US mobile networks.
Validity
The +44 UK number is valid as long as you keep your account active and the +1 US number option is valid for 4 months from last use. To keep your account and +44 UK number active you must top it up at least once every 15 months and to preserve existing credit you need to make a call or send a text every 9 months (or 4 months for the US number). If you do not make a call or send a text within these validity periods, your remaining credit will be lost and you will need to top up again (minimum $30US) to re-instate any lost credit. Unused credit rolls forward and is added to the new amount when a top up is made. The ability to make outbound calls in the US and Canada is temporarily suspended 7 days after the last use in those countries. However, the US number remains active and can receive calls and text messages for up to 4 months after suspension and existing credit is also maintained. If the US number is not used for 4 months the US calling option can easily be re-activated by calling customer services or by dialing 870, although a new US number may be issued. To maintain your existing US number past the 4 month validity period you may opt to pay a fee of 31p per month and this can be activated and cancelled via your web based account.
Additional Credit
The USA SIM card is supplied with initial starter credit of £6.00 and you can add further credit as soon as you receive the SIM card and after activation. Credit can be added on-line or via the phone and call history and records can also be managed via the on-line services. Balances can also be obtained through short dial codes which activate a response text displaying your balance. Credit (minimum top up $30) can be added with a credit card only – unfortunately debit cards are not accepted for top ups but may be used to purchase the initial SIM card. Automatic recharges can also be requested to ensure you never run out of call credit during an important call.
USA and UK local numbers
A USA number is assigned with every SIM card. The US number (+1) is based in New York, Boston or LA but the call rates mean that your calls are cost effective regardless of where you are based in the US as detailed above. The UK number range +44 7924 is based in the Isle of Man, UK and means that you can receive calls in the UK when you return although US residents pay an international rate to call you. Important; The USA number range should only be used in the USA when making outbound calls locally and internationally. Using the UK number for outbound calls in the USA incurs surcharges. Equally the UK number should be used in the UK for all outbound calls as using the US number profile incurs a surcharge. Incoming calls can be received on either number in either country and the rates above apply. Details of how to select the appropriate number for your location are featured in the user guide. Unfortunately it is not possible to select a specific UK or US number.
Voicemail
Voicemail is automatically enabled. An inbound caller will be directed to voicemail if the call is not answered within 30 seconds, if the phone is switched off or if there is no coverage. A text message will be sent indicating that there is a new voicemail.

Your family or friends will not be charged. You will be charged a 26 p/min surcharge to receive the call on top of the standard per minute rate to receive.
